When I recently upgraded to version 2.42, my CDROM can no longer be read so I can't see the videos of the Wonders of the world etc. Has anyone else had this problem and how ccan it be resolved? |

At the risk of asking an incredibly silly question it was an earlier version of Civ2 that you upgraded to v2.42, not a Multi player or ToT?? Assuming that the above be not the case - have you upgraded your machine so that the CD drive letter has changed? Have you now got a CD writer in your machine? both of these have been known to cause problems. If you have plenty of spare hard drive space you might consider using a virtual CD (see for example http://www.cms.livjm.ac.uk/software ) which is how I play all my Civ ... hope this helps ------------------ ____________ Scouse Git[1] "CARTAGO DELENDA EST" - Cato the Censor "The Great Library must be built!" Try editing the CIV.INI file in your windows folder There should be a line reading WhereIsCD=f:\civ2 |

Nothing against the videos, but why would you want to watch them more than once? |

Sorry Troytea - the link is now fixed - cpp's advice is cogent - check the Civ2.ini file and ensure all references to the CD use the correct drive letter - and check out the vcd software at the link - you don't get the music (unless you use the Japanese version [in Kanji]), but all else including the videos and their inbuilt music work fine.Cheers, and Good civin' ------------------ ____________ Scouse Git[1] "CARTAGO DELENDA EST" - Cato the Censor "The Great Library must be built!"
