Oh, come on Farmboy - some of us actually like playing with a zillion villages rather than a few cities - bear with us, be kind to the afflicted, and make sure you find us early in MP (You do NOT want us to find you later!)If I read the thread accurately your best bet is to pass onto DaveV - Taurus seems to be MIA - but if he reemerges we can fit him in after DaveV. In MP I have no issue with ICS, it is defineitly strategy and not sleaze in that application. When you do it to the poor AI it is sleaze though. Cities are cool, I love when I have nothing left to build in a city! |

ICS can get a little crazy but you can't argue with this, You're civ will not die as long as you have a city on the board. ICS makes that very difficult.------------------ "Bonjour, you cheese-eatin' surrender-monkeys." |

I have the save file and will play this weekend. Assuming Muad'Dib is MIA, johnmcd appears to be next on the list after me. Note to John after a quick check of the save - the sleaze factor is pretty high, and is liable to skyrocket during my tenure. Are you still interested in continuing? |

Yikes! The save file I received is an MGE save. What do we do now? Play on and exclude some of the original players, or try to go back in time to a 2.42 save? I have the game on hold awaiting a decision... |

How would that happen? I thought MGE and 2.42 were not interchangable. Mmm...Oh well. Who knows where it happened? I don't think we can back up. I guess I'm done with the knitting circle. It sucks for me. But I say play on. There are other games. ------------------ "Bonjour, you cheese-eatin' surrender-monkeys." [This message has been edited by skrobism (edited January 12, 2001).] |

AD 800 save is on its way to johnmcd. A brief summary: I established a handful of new cities and built Marco Polo's Expedition (although none of the AIs is interested in my "worthless" maps ). I discovered Engineering and Trade, and am about one turn from Invention. |

I am passing the game on to Marko-polo. Here is my History.0-1020ad Spanish build Sun Tzu's 1-1040ad Theory of Gravity -> Gunpowder 2-1060ad 3-1080ad 4-1100ad 5-1120ad Earnhardt founded; 3 founded; 6-1140ad Gunpowder -> Metalurgy; Dale founded; 7-1160ad Intimidator founded; 8-1180ad AK7 founded; 9-1200ad 10-1220ad Mike's Chapel Built!; Senna founded; Moore founded; No Hope renamed New New Hope; Leo's due next turn! Throughout my reign we have established many trade routes with the Americans and used caravans to build wonders. We are close to two more wonders of your choosing as well. But do not give me the credit. The AKC is great because of the many leaders that have come before me. ------------------ "Bonjour, you cheese-eatin' surrender-monkeys." I have played my 10 turns and here is my history:1240AD-Traded philosofy to banking with Americans, 'Marko was here' found 1260AD- 1280AD-Metallurgy -> Democracy 1300AD-Kukkumaki found 1320AD- 1340AD-Ghent SE founded 1360AD-Magellans completed, met Spanish, exchange maps, barbarians capture New York! 1380AD-Democracy-->Economics 1400AD-Bribed New York for 312g , size 5 city with harbor and 2 knights! 1420AD-Crete S founded, traded democracy for physics with Americans, SoL due to next turn, Isaac's being built in the capitol America mainland has been flooded with our 11 caravans so soon we'll have plenty of money and science. I continued Scrobism's good work of building libraries in those size 5 cities. Temples and military units build in order to put Elves to do something more profitable. Our next leader have now choice of choosing whatever government he prefers thanks to SoL. A ship chain is in place to America if need be.. the norhern part of the world is still unexplored and I didn't had time to go there as I was busy shipping caravans to America. The save game is now sent to Scouse Gits who I think is next. Btw, I think we should soon decide the main goal of the game: conquest or AC! This is my second time to play a succession game so I don't know how we make that decision.. should we vote?

Marko_Polo Everyone, please check the list and correct it accordinly if need be. If I forgot someone please add your name to the list. And if there is someone listed who don't want to play anymore don't be afraid to tell that too! I think we have a good game going here and I for sure want to see what we can make of it together! The AKC is alive and well - and about half way through its sojourn in my hands. Lady Liberty and Ike's have been built we are now good comrades and looking forward to the reign of the Super Ironclad - should finish either today or tomorrow.Farmboy! are you still out there and do you want to play again? I shall assume that you don't actually want 'this filth' unless you post to the contrary and pass to SilverDragon (I think). ______________ The sigless Git |

The year is 1420, what will the Knitting Circle be up to at this stage of its Civilization? Our great Kingdom is poised on the verge of multiple breakthroughs - the Science of Bridge Building is aquired from the decadent Babylonians. The city of New York, as a punjishment for daring to rebel against our yoke is set to Xinning. Our research goal must now be Steam Engine so our mighty Super Ironclads can walk astride the seas. Our capital needs growth! Let's about our work. Research can be brought to 4 turns with the judicious use of the Art of Xin. 1440 - Lady Liberty in Girba; Revolution 1460 - Communism; Economics -> Steam Engine 1480 - not much 1500 - Isaac Newton's College in Carthage - Library rushed, pity our Capital is such a hole! 1510 - Steam Engine -> Railroad; Barbarian City of Berlin sighted - roll out the Diplos 1520 - The Grand Fleet sets out - target Celtland - they have Wonders that should be ours! 1530 - Production geared to war footing, Diplos and Crusaders 1540 - Railroad -> Conscription 1550 - A regretable naval incident involving a fully loaded Celtic Caravel, clearly bent upon trespass into our waters, and a vet Ironclad of the Grand Fleet has caused the accursed Celts to declare war - hehe. Our trade with the Americas continues - I'd switch to Fundy now and capitalise on our infrastructure while feeding more Food Caravans into Carthage - but it is your decision ...------------------ Scouse Git[1] |
