Anything by Led Zeppelin. Some good civ songs would include:Immigrant Song Battle of Evermore Achilles Last Stand Four Sticks In My Time of Dying Kashmir The list goes on and on, but these are some pretty good songs to play while warmongering. ------------------ Proud Warrior of the O.W.L. The perfect band for Civ2 playing is LAIBACH - especially the "Opus Dei" and "Nova Akropola" disks. This is a very tough band to describe - let's just say their song lyrics include speeches by Churchill and Tito. Because their music can be so nationalistic and militaristic, some mistakenly believe Laibach is a fascist group. Actually it's the opposite - they use the leitmotifs of authoritarianism to paint it in its true colors. [This message has been edited by mindseye (edited May 22, 2000).]

Night on bald mountain... excellent. Have you seen it in Fantasia? Classical, war epics, anything violent... |

Yes, Night on Bald Mountain. Fantasia portrays it very well. Put "The Rite of Spring" (Le Sacre Du Printemps) on when you play Civ2. Good God. Or you can put on the soundtrack to Patton. The only bad thing with MGE is that you can't play it without the CD so you can't play them on your computer. |

Funny you should mention music. I myself just pop in a random CD/tape and set it on repeat during the whole game. This causes some funny effects in terms of associating music with a particular game. For instance i associate Blonde Redhead with the standard Rome scenario, because i kept repeating their , at the time relatively new, album 'La Mia Vita Violenta' until i finally conquered the world as the Carthaginians, for the first time. Now whenever i play the CD i always want to play the scenario. Can anyone say Pavlov?

Talking about music, I once had the Civ2 CD in while I was playing the demo of Grand Theft Auto...The Civ musics made the game feel quite strange, to say the least... ------------------ "Now Lone Star, you will see that Evil will always triumph, because Good is Dumb!" -- Dark Helmet |

Of all of the hundreds of games that I have played over the years, there has been only one that I played the music that comes with the game: Outlaws. All of the other stuff, including Civ2, are just mindless, little annoying synthesized music loops. While I play Civ2, I listen to Mozart. |
