Mercator,I hate complaining indeed. I was afriad that Firaxis would listen to the people that try to get attention all the time, and cry about graphics. I wanted to let Firaxis hear that there are VERY much people out here that prefer the game, with whatever the graphics are. In an interview the pres of Firaxis announced allready that "They are sick on the complains about bad graphics in their games, and they're gonna hire some very good graphics designers for Civ3" well, that's ok, but it shouldn't decrease the budget for the gameplay and customizability as mentioned before. Thus, to the point: I want to get Firaxis' attention away from the weanies, and direct it to the gamers. |

A response: i simply assumed that "customizability" was part of "gameplay". |

Here here! Sign me up!I would be thrilled if the game had stick figures and a brilliant AI. All I need is to be able to tell what's what. |

CyberShy,Sorry, but what fun is a game with a great AI and outdated graphics? Why do we gamers need to make concessions all the time? I would want to tell Firaxis: "Do a good job on everything And I am willing to pay $10 extra if that would mean that every aspect of the game is good. The last thing I'm waiting for is a game with old crappy graphics. Well... Actually the last thing I'm waiting for is a game with crappy AI But I say that they need to focus attention on the whole thing, that simply makes more sense.

Great Gameplay and AI are on the top of my list. Good graphics are second tier IMO. Without the others, good graphics are Completely Useless. And if the good graphics Screw Up the gameplay, or take serious clock cycles from the AI, then they're Worse than useless. ------------------ Mark Everson Project lead for The Clash of Civilizations (That means I do the things nobody else wants to do ;-) ) This Radically different civ game needs your suggestions and/or criticism of our design. Sign me up for an AI than remembers your last game ie. same username and adapts to your style ..... probably not possible. As far as graphics go... for a strategy game like civ, as long as i can recognize the units and not have to squint (like TOT) i am happy |

I do want attractive graphics, but I also want a game that I'll want to play again & again. I want an interface that doesn't force me to make 100 mouse clicks every turn. Most of all I don't want to pay $50 for the privilege of beta-testing. Do your own damn testing and THEN sell your product. |
